Plot gravitational acceleration using a photogate and computer display.
To measure g.
A "Picket Fence" is a piece of clear plastic striped with black bars. The Picket Fence is dropped between a photogate. The photogate is connected to a computer and produces a graph of velocity vs. time. The slope of the graph is g.
Pasco photogate, Computer Science Workshop, Picket Fence, and the computer projector.
The settings for the datalogger and the axis of the graphs must be determined the day before class. It takes extra time to set this up during a class change because the computer must be booted.
